Delete Your Account

This page explains how to permanently delete your LastBeacon account (published by MSS Ventures LLC) and all data associated with it. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Option 1: Delete it yourself (fastest)

  1. Open LastBeacon on your phone — or sign in at app.lastbeacon.app if you no longer have the app installed (Anonymous Mode users can restore with their access key — the 32-character key shown at signup, also called your recovery key)
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Scroll to Danger Zone and tap Delete Account
  4. Confirm with your password (or your recovery key if you use Anonymous Mode)

Your account and all data are deleted immediately. This works for both email and anonymous accounts.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you can no longer access the app, email us from the address you signed up with and we will delete your account and all associated data. We complete deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by reply.

Or write to privacy@lastbeacon.app with the subject “Account Deletion Request”. Requests must come from your account’s email address so we can verify ownership. Anonymous Mode accounts have no email on file — restore with your access key (Option 1) to delete; we cannot verify anonymous ownership over email.

What gets deleted

  • Encrypted vault items — notes, documents, images, and their encryption keys
  • Uploaded files in cloud storage
  • Trusted contacts and guardian verification history
  • Trips and all location breadcrumbs
  • Timer settings and check-in history
  • Push notification registrations
  • Your account record itself — email or device ID, password hash, and recovery data

All of the above is removed permanently at deletion. In rare cases a failed file-storage deletion can leave an orphaned encrypted file that is no longer linked to any account; see our Privacy Policy for details. If you want a copy of your data first, use Settings → Download My Data in the app before deleting.

A note on guardian alerts

Deleting your account also cancels your check-in timer and any pending guardian alerts. Your trusted contacts will not be notified of the deletion — if they are expecting your check-ins, consider telling them you are no longer using LastBeacon.
